How to Play Oregon Powerball
Playing Powerball is very simple. Drawings are held twice a week; in them, six different numbers are selected at random, and players that match these numbers on their tickets will receive some winnings, depending on how many numbers they’ve matched. Players pick five white balls ranging from 1 to 69, and one red Powerball from 1 to 26.
In order to buy a Powerball ticket, you have to visit one of the stores authorized for selling them. Then, you’ll have two options:
- Pick the numbers yourself — Take the slip and mark five white numbers and one red number. After you’re done with making your selection, give the slip to the retailer along with $2. If the retailer is busy and you’re in a hurry, you can also insert the slip and the money into a player-operated terminal.
- Go for the Quick Pick — If you don’t know what numbers you would like to put on your ticket, you can ask the retailer to sell you a slip with randomly selected numbers. This is called the Quick Pick ticket.
If you’re willing to spend an extra dollar on your Powerball ticket, you can also activate the randomly selected Power Play multiplier. With this extra investment, every Powerball cash prize you've won between $4 and $50,000 will be multiplied by the Power Play multiplier, which can be at a value of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x.
If you like playing Powerball with the same numbers over and over again, you can activate the consecutive drawings in advance. With a game slip, your numbers can be repeated in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, or 20 consecutive drawings. On the other hand, if you use the Lottery machine, you can participate in up to 24 drawings with the same selection.
Another important thing to remember is to always double-check your selection before you pay for your slip. Powerball tickets can’t be returned or canceled, so make sure your slip contains the numbers you want.
Oregon Powerball Drawing Schedule
Powerball drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 8 PM PT. You can purchase your ticket for a drawing at all times except during the draw break, which happens on the drawing day between 7 PM and 8:15 PM PT.
